 My Story

Entrepreneurship is in my blood.

I was born in the San Fernando Valley, California and grew up in a fairly normal household. Dad was the entrepreneurial type – which is just another way of saying that he didn’t like working for anybody else – so I guess that’s where I got it from. Mom was not entrepreneurial but taught us four kids about God.

Like my Dad, I’d rather not work for anyone else. What I’d rather do is work with others to build the kind of credibility and client trust that gives them a leg up over their competition.

I got my chance to do just that when I met my business partner, Brett Duncan. Brett is a very talented television video producer who invited me to perform in some of his commercials. We made some great TV spots together, but it wasn’t long before we began to look beyond television. Thanks to the rapid growth of the Internet, we got the idea that streaming media had an untapped potential to bring more interest and credibility to businesses.

Following that hunch, Brett and I started an Internet broadcasting company called RaveBiz. I became the interviewer and have enjoyed learning how to be the “host with the most” while bringing out the best in others. We were just a bit too early with our idea of bringing video to the Web – back in 2002, there really wasn’t much video or audio on the Internet – so we settled for audio, as it was more easily accessed at the time. We used to joke about the fact that we were pioneers and had the arrows in our backs to prove it. It wasn’t easy, but we’ve always been innovators, and we never gave up on what we believed.

Brett and I took the simple idea of word-of-mouth to a new level using audio and video, even though Internet bandwidth was very limited in those days. We developed a proprietary way to interview business owners and their clients so that their websites and emails became more credible in the eyes of potential customers.

My passion is interviewing others and making them look good on camera. I love asking questions – it brings out the best in others while bringing information and education to viewers.

Six years after Brett and I began RaveBiz, I’m still excited to be a pioneer who continues to bridge the gap between television and the Internet. I feel it’s time to bring smaller businesses into the limelight so that people looking for a service provider – whether it’s a doctor, lawyer, or any other important provider – can meet the owner of the business, watch the video, get their questions answered, and quickly determine if they want to do business with that individual. It saves time, energy, and money and brings pre-qualified leads right to your door.

And for people who have entrepreneurship in their blood, what could be better than that?
